This year we’ve left our cool season garden in longer than we really needed. We wanted to watch everything go to seed; to see our garden’s entire life cycle. I’m glad we did. I’m amazed how beautiful our vegetable plants are at this time of the year. I’m sad just thinking that this is our last spring here. I’m going to miss our garden.

Very exciting time of year!
I love seeing things in flower and all of the bees buzzing around them …
I love the smell of apple blossoms. I was surprised the first time I saw my spring onions flower, I never expected them to look like that. I felt I should blow on them like a dandelion.
So pretty! And edible! Chive flowers (and onion flowers) infused in a white wine or rice vinegar is stunning. They’re a nice addition to salads too. Garlic scapes are to die for!
